There are all kinds of people who experience the trauma of being arrested and we’ve never met someone who isn’t ready to go home before they even darken the doors of a cell. And though there are all kinds of people who find themselves incarcerated, the need for bail is fairly similar across the board. But what kind of bail bonds are needed in each situation? In today’s blog, we’re going to take a closer look at bail bonds, and we’re going to discuss the seven different kinds of bail bonds.

What Are Bail Bonds?

To know what a bail bond is, we must first understand what the term “bail” implies. Bail is simply the payment for a temporary release of an individual who’s been accused of a crime before their trial. A certain amount of money must be paid to ensure that the accused will appear at the necessary court dates. Bail is not guaranteed to be offered to everyone and there are common reasons for one to be denied bail, such as the nature of the crime, a history of missing court dates, the label of “flight risk,” and if one is considered a danger to others. However, when bail is offered, if the accused is able to come up with the necessary amount, they can await their trial in the comfort of their own home. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is where Kocian comes in. A Kocian bail bondsman acts as sureties and can post bail on behalf of the defendants. They charge a small fee, a percentage of the paid amount, and work to get the accused release “on bail.” Let’s discuss the seven different types of bail bonds.

Different Kinds of Bail Bonds

Cash Bail – This kind of bail is just how it sounds. To be released on a cash bail, one needs to have a significant amount of money. Once the accused has dutifully attended all of the court dates, the full amount, minus administrative fees, will be returned to the defendant.
